Be Like Harriet

Today is Harriet Tubman day in the US.  And although it is part of the woke agenda to reinforce the flimsy theory that systemic racism is alive and well in North America, I’m going to give a shout-out to Miss Harriet.   Like me, this black slave had cultivated the ability to listen and more importantly to obey her Heavenly Father.  Because of that, she saved not only her own life, but the lives of many others.  And for that God should get the glory.  He was faithful, instructing her in all the minute details of her perilous journey.  He gave her specific instructions on when to leave, where to hide, when to stop and where to cross rivers.  Harriet recognized that she didn’t have the answers but that she knew the one who did.  Standing just 5 feet tall, this brave woman spoke truth to power, rejecting the yoke of slavery to strike out on her own, into unknown territory, travelling by night and crossing many rivers, including the mighty Niagara into Canada.    Current “propaganda” misleads the masses into believing that Harriet was guided by the North Star, but in 2020, when God directed me to leave Ontario and travel west to an unknown destination, He specifically told me that as He had “guided and protected Harriet, He would also guide and protect me”.  This truth was confirmed in Harriet, the 2019 film about her life.  May we all learn to cultivate the voice of God in our lives and condition ourselves to “move on a dime” to obey Him, especially as the times get darker and the days more perilous.

Virtue Signaling, Eh?

Virtue Signaling, Eh?

Virtue signaling bothers me at a deep, visceral level.  In 2020 virtue signalling took a quantum leap when millions of Canadians voluntarily covered their faces with a symbol of slavery, secrecy and silence.  Most of my friends were perplexed, even hostile...
